Perfect example of the current state of education in our country. One of the poorest written news articles I've ever read. Can't figure out who did what to whom or why. :banghead:

I agree that it was very poorly written... and just a tiny bit poorly read ;-) :mrgreen:
"While that call was being made to dispatch the dispatcher heard a shot being fired. We come to find out that the first shot was fired as a warning shot by a resident of the house,"

Could be I'm putting the wrong read on it, but worse than the writing are the statements (if quoted accurately) made by the police chief. If you are quoting someone in an article, is it really bad writing when the speaker doesn't know how to use proper English?
