Credit Union "No Weapons"

Post by tomtexan »

This is on the front door of the Kelly Federal Credit Union in Tyler, TX. No gun buster or 30.06 signs, just a simple "No Weapons". Since it is a federal credit union, I guess they don't have to comply with the state law.

There isn't a state law that states they have to post a valid 30.06 sign. BTW, I don't think the term "Federal" has any legal meaning when it applies to premises of the credit union being federal property.

:iagree: So carry on past the sign - or better yet, go to a CU that doesn't try to infringe on your rights of self defense

It doesn't apply to CHL but don't carry a knife past the sign or you might be violating 30.05 trespass.
I sincerely apologize to anybody I offended by suggesting the Second Amendment also applies to The People who don't work for the government.

Banks are chartered as state or federal. As someone said already, it is a matter of who they report to.

actually its not a matter of who they report to, its a matter of who owns the property, a federal association bank is still owned by a private corperation and there fore private property and subject to texas law. since the federal reserve bank is not a government division but a PRIVATE corperation, hmmmm yea yea the FED does what they want just like the USPS
