I heard this the first time several years ago and I thought I was going to pass out laughing. I thought it must be faked, so I did a little research and it appeared to be legitimate.

Oh man I had forgotten about that recording. I remember when it first went viral and made the rounds back in about 2000/2002 or so. It's still funny today.

There was another one that was popular at the same time, and it was the voice of Wanda Sykes, who wasn't as well known then as she is now. In the recording, she's prank-calling a car towing service to complain that the car she just picked up from them had a "surprise" in the back seat left by one of the mechanics. Seems that someone had used it for an outhouse, so to speak, and she was pretty riled up about it. The mechanic is unawares that Sykes is recording the conversation, and he puts her on speaker phone so the other guys in the shop can hear this call, and he has no idea it's Wanda Sykes, a professional comedienne, pranking him. It is unbelievably crude, but REALLY funny. She has this guy doubled over laughing halfway into the call, and he sounds like the guy in Charles' recording, he's laughing so hard. I wish I could find the recording. I'd upload it to my website and link it for the daring to listen to, but I can't find where I stored it.

TAM,

You're thinking of Wanda Sykes on the Comedy Central series Crank Yankers. Here's a link. (there is *some* language, so all be forewarned!)
