An Olympic Twist on Gun Control

Post by The Mad Moderate »

I ran across this article and I had to share it.
And we just learned this exciting little tidbit about the super sustainable Olympic Stadium currently being built there that makes us even more anxious to see it – it’s going to be made out of recycled guns and knives!

While I kind of assume that the pile of guns pic might have been a stock photo, I particularly cringed at C96 Broomhandle in said pile. Then I was slightly amused by the couple Crossman (?) BB pistols that vaguely resemble .45s. Couldn't help but think of Clark W. Griswold using one to make John Candy let him into Wally World. "It's a Magnum P.I... It could lodge in the skin and cause a very bad infection."

Cheap building materials, I suppose, but it does remind me of "those who beat their swords into plowshares will end up plowing for those who don't." Or however that particular saying goes... For some reason it also makes me want to say "goon squads." Even though they were all handed over peaceably with an eye towards following the law.

Might make some feel better, but I'm not one of 'em. :cryin :mad5 :cryin :mad5
