Neighborhood Watch
Many of us in the subdivision are intrested in starting a neighbor hood watch. Does anyone know What needs to be done to start one?
Re: Neighborhood Watch
Cant help you with what needs to be done, but beware, I believe I have read that if you are part of an organized neighborhood watch and on "patrol", that if you are carrying a gun, even with CHL, you need to have some security certifications.
I could be wrong, but just beware and check it out. I would hate to have someone with good intentions overlook some weird statute and get busted for what, if they werent part of an organized group, be legal.

Local PD should be able to help you.

Re: Neighborhood Watch
I agree with this, get with your PD or SO as the case may be. They should have some sort of neighborhood services officer assigned to your area who handles these things.RPBrown wrote:Local PD should be able to help you.

After what they did to Zimmerman, I would never be part of an official neighborhood watch.
We declare our right on this earth to be a man, to be a human being, to be respected as a human being, to be given the rights of a human being in this society, on this earth, in this day, which we intend to bring into existence by any means necessary.

Yeagh, I am hoping I can work it out that I more just help get it going. I like the idea of a neighbor hood watch, but that is just one more thing on my plateemcee rib wrote:After what they did to Zimmerman, I would never be part of an official neighborhood watch.

What I prefer (when my schedule allows): sitting in a chair in the front lawn, driveway, taking the dog for a walk...and just keeping a watchful eye for things that don't add up. If more folks did that there would be no need for an organized "Neighborhood Watch." Just my opinion.

Re: Neighborhood Watch
That's been the attitude of all of my neighbors. We have a good group that all talk with each other and keep an eye out for each other. We know when there is somebody that doesn't belong in the neighborhood.PUCKER wrote:What I prefer (when my schedule allows): sitting in a chair in the front lawn, driveway, taking the dog for a walk...and just keeping a watchful eye for things that don't add up. THe neighborhood I grew up in was like that. I miss it. Had one problem familey move in that was fine for a while till their daughter got in a gang and a party ended in a shooting. From that point on any time there was any music heard all the neighbors started reporting the party. Because of the shooting the sherrifs would come and tell them to shut it down or they take the equipment. Partys stoped real quick.PUCKER wrote:What I prefer (when my schedule allows): sitting in a chair in the front lawn, driveway, taking the dog for a walk...and just keeping a watchful eye for things that don't add up.
