Well, its been 2 weeks and 2 days, but DPS fianlly got my packet and everything looks good so far. Just waiting on background check now.

What was the date you mailed it? I'm still waiting for any kind of update.

My background is clean as a whistle, but ive had several part time jobs separated by semesters in college, so i hope that won't add to the time.

The longest step for me was waiting for DPS to acknowledge they received my paperwork. It took two of the five weeks. :totap:

good luck some people waits 4 days others 10 weeks like me so be patient guys buy a gun and go to the range keep your mind off of it ,,see you later ..

I mailed the packet off 8/1/12. Status changed to received on 8/17/12. Still shows prints and BGC is under review as of today. :yawn

There ain't no rhyme or reason on the inconsistency of the DPS processing these things. I wonder if its like the grocery store where sometimes you get a competent cashier and go through rapidly and sometimes you get a Democrat?

Still waiting. Been looking at holsters and have decided on a Comp-Tac CTAC for my Shield. Any advice on good, inexpensive, gun belts?

Don't overlook Old Faithful Holsters, they have belts also, look at there website, you'll see what I mean. I love mine. :cheers2:
