I'm guessing he hadn't heard of the famous "sling method?"
(CBS News) A gun belonging to a member of Mitt Romney's U.S. Secret Service detail was found unattended in the bathroom of the candidate's charter plane Wednesday afternoon. The Republican nominee was traveling from Tampa, Fla., site of his party's convention, to Indianapolis, Ind., for a speech.
The weapon, presumably left behind in the bathroom by accident, was discovered by a CBS News/National Journal reporter, who alerted a flight attendant about the gun. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162- ... -lavatory/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
We need stronger gun laws so that these guys do not leave them lying around. Can you imagine if it had been found by a child or a toddler? What if that toddler had gone on a wild shooting spree? He or she could have killed thousands of people.

I don't believe that it is stated in the above link about this story, but another story I read said the
Secret Service agent who left it in the throne room was a female.
At the next stop, the female agent in question was no longer with the entourage.
Of course who knows if she was supposed to get off at the next airport, or if her bosses
were getting ready to send her to the newly created South Pole Secret Service site? :-)

We all make mistakes from time to time. I once left the gun safe open and heaven knows how many times I have left the oven on. Was it fooolish, sure. Was it human, yes.

Was it negligent? Have you ever left your oven on with a gun in it?
One night I was in the garage rearranging my gun safe. It was pretty packed so it took me a couple of hours to get everything back in it's place. When I was finished I shut the door and locked it up before going into the house.
Later that night I went back out to the garage to have a smoke. I started hearing this strange low whining sound, but couldn't figure out was it was. It took me a while to figure out where it was coming from. Yep, I opened the safe and my cat ran out.

Leaving the gun safe open or the oven on is only human but there is no excuse for leaving your gun in the restroom for someone else to find. If I ever do something like that, I will sell my guns and have no more.
God Bless America, and please hurry. When I was young I knew all the answers. When I got older I started to realize I just hadn’t quite understood the questions.-Me

ok, maybe I'm not as nice as ya'll, but there are mistakes, errors and things that you just don't do.
Leaving your gun in a restroom rates as something "you just don't do" in my opinion, just like you don't leave a child or pet locked in a car in the Texas heat with the windows all rolled up, you don't paint your nails while driving, and you don't let a buffoon masquerading as a professional give a presentation on gun safety.
There should be a finders keepers rule for guns in the bathroom. That would fix the problem quick.
I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.
