A clerk at a 7-11 in Delaware was shot and killed after he complied with the robbers demands.

Yikes! It's like my friend John has been saying: "Criminals used to threaten to kill you because they want something. But now what they want is to kill."
What really bothers me about this story, though, was this statement from the officer:
The victim did everything right - he didn't pose a threat to the robbers.

My condolences for the family of the victims.
The victim did everything right, except for shooting the robbers.

Yeah. I had the same reaction. Look what he got for doing everything "right". Pulling a gun and shooting the robbers would have been the RIGHT thing.

The officer should be asked, will you do the same if you were robbed? Will you do the same as the dead victim?

That is one example why I have spent time thinking through scenarios and reaching the conclusion that I will always resist with force should I ever be threatened with a weapon.
I am not going to leave the question of my personal survival to the whims and caprices of a scumbag obviously willing to commit felonies.

Another civil and unarmed dad who de-escalated the call for fist fight by a challenger, ended run-over by the challenger's truck. What a death?!!

In the minds of far too many in positions of authority "everything right" means passive compliance with evil men's desires. Good men will always resist. Weak men will passively comply.

So they are just pandering to the lowest common denominator. Don't want the weak to feel bad about not resisting.
