Welcome to the New Normal.

Consumes valuable time, money and resources, useful for creating distractions, creates immediate panic and longer-term instability.
Excellent PsyOps, all for the cost of a phone call.

Tip of the iceberg, I'll bet.

Hopefully just a hoax.

If I was a betting man, I'd put the chances of this being al qaeda at about 10% and the chances of it being some stupid student who didn't study for a test today at around 90%.

AQ doesn't warn people.

Edit: Bomb threat received by University at 8:35, stating bombs to go off in 90 minutes. They finally start evacuating at 9:40-9:50? :???:

oddly, a San Antonio Salvation Army too?
Salvation Army Shelter in San Antonio, UT Austin, and NOrth Dakota University

odd scattering, perhaps copycats, but that was fast copying, and odd target selection, not government installations nor military bases nor "capitalists/stock exchange" type buildings etc

An East Side Salvation Army shelter was evacuated this morning because of a bomb threat.

A man called police about 8 a.m., saying a bomb was inside the shelter at 226 Nolan St., police spokeswoman Sandy Gutierrez said.

I'd think there are lots of fake bomb threats throughout the country throughout the year.

But when one happens at a big place (a large public university for example) the media is going to start looking for others that normally would have only made the local news and make a big thing out of a "series of bomb threats". Just my .02 on most of the "craze of __________" behavior the media reports on randomly sweeping the nation.

I believe that this is just the beginning of violence and increasing threats-of-violence in this country, like what we've seen on a regular basis in the current 3rd world Muslim dominated countries (this includes the UK now).

With the various Embassies under attack, diplomats killed, and the escalation seen widespread in various parts of the world; its only a matter of time before it becomes "usual" here. That's what happens when violence is allowed to spread without punishment for the perpertrators and with much hand-wringing pandering by spine-less governments.

Failure to heed credible intelligence data and sheer impotence by the Obama Administration, eerily like Carter in '79, has allowed these acts to go on and go on unpunished. So much for "Foreign Policy" that protects Americans and American interests.

I'm sorry to admit this, but today I loaded my battle rifle with a full mag and it will remain within arm's reach at all times; for the forseeable future.
I'm also working out a reliable but easy access process for it in my vehicle when I travel.
Guess I'm becoming a full-blown prepper.

I won't be held hostage in my own home; I will continue to live my life, but I'm giving myself more potent options in case I need them. My rifle has become a need-to-have-quickly option.

I hope I'm over-reacting for the moment and things will settle down as time goes on. I can hope.......I have to hope.

My prayers and desires for comfort go to the families of the murdered Americans trapped in foreign lands.
They deserve better than has been dribbled out by this President and his worthless minions.

even if they are not coordinated...they are doing the job and causing massive disruptions around the country and use of LEO resources to either prove or disprove any explosives.
Hopefully it is a prank and not from a more sinister outfit.

all this really needs to stop. Its effecting powder availability

VALPARAISO | Valparaiso University officials posted a warning on their website saying an unspecified threat was made through graffiti alluding to "dangerous and criminal activity."

The threat alleged it would take place during the university’s daily chapel break period.

According to the website, the "broad threat" provided no specific details about the location of the threat.

It was unknown whether the threat had any relation to bomb threats Friday morning that forced the evacuation of the University of Texas and North Dakota State University campuses.

The alert advised student that additional security presence will be on site and visible during the break, which begins at 11:15 a.m. every day.

Classes, all regular activities and the daily service at the Chapel of the Resurrection will go on as planned, said Nicole Niemi, director of media relations for VU.
