COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Columbus police say officers responding to a possible break-in at a school fired at and injured one suspect and arrested another.

The district announced it would cancel classes for the day at Brookhaven High School in northwest Columbus after the shooting Tuesday.

Police say officers responded to a burglar alarm at the school around 3:30 a.m. They say officers had confronted 22-year-old Chaunce Dolan in the hallway when 22-year-old Ahmad Khatab ran into one of the officers and was shot.
