Never Cease To Be Amazed While Driving
I have been driving for 47 years and I saw two new things yesterday. I was on Beltway 8 in north Houston and I saw a man driving a pick-up truck with a little dog in the bed of the truck. The dog was jumping up on the tool box and running from side to side on the box. It would then jump down to the bed and then back on the box. We were going about 65 mph while this was happening. Other drivers were enraged at the guy but he could care less. About a mile farther up the road, I saw a car being towed with a rope by another car (at 60 mph) and the driver of the tow vehicle was texting. Be real careful out there. Crazies are everywhere.

Ive seen clowns shaving with electric razors, putting on makeup, and reading a paper back while driving on Houston freeways. I have either just read or heard of a gal eating with chopsticks while driving. These people need a mega dose of reality.

Yeah, there's always something new and exciting out on the road, I saw a guy playing the guitar while driving in rush-hour traffic...

Re: Never Cease To Be Amazed While Driving
Twice now in recent weeks I have seen one of the locals around here driving down the road in his pickup truck at highway speeds with his dog riding on top of the cab. Yes, I said on top of the cab. I couldn't believe it. I've seen them ride on tool boxes many times, but not on the roof of the cab. Unbelievable! Just one slight tap of the brakes and that dog would be out in front of him in the highway, but only for a split second.

I've seen people driving with Obama bumper-stickers on their vehicles.

I am not even sure how that is possible, but women are famous for multi-tasking.papajohn1964 wrote:Women putting on make up is fairly common but I saw a woman putting on pantyhose in Houston once but at least she was stopped at a light!

A couple days ago on my drive home from work I was behind a woman who was driving a little strange. When the traffic slowed down I passed her and she had a book on her steering wheel. "Multi-tasking" is fine, but NOT while driving.

Well, I've got one that I saw recently:
A woman driving a maroon Toyota Sienna minivan was supposed to proceed through a 4-way
stop before me, since she was there first. She wouldn't go in a timely fashion, but I had to wait
for her since she had the right of way.
When she finally went, and passed in front of me, she had a baby half in her lap and half laying on
the steering wheel, plus she was talking to the baby and looking at it as she made the left turn.

Say what you want about the crazy drivers in the Houston area (and I have seen them while visiting my brother and dad, who live in different parts of town), but every time I drive through there, I keep getting the feeling that they just wouldn't survive a rush hour drive across the Metroplex.

Re: Never Cease To Be Amazed While Driving
Last week I saw a woman going hiway speed changing her shirt. Went from a tee shirt to a button up. I was on my bike and was not about to try and go around her.

Tell me about it!! Just this morning I had a fuel truck almost run me off the tollway, I had to evade so quickly that I almost spilled my cereal!
