Is POTUS covering up real Terrorism in the US?

Post by Purplehood »

Refineries in California generating spikes in gas prices.

Three incidents of trucks derailing trains in California within the last week...and there could be more that I just did not notice.

What simpler way to create mayhem in the rail network than abandoning a truck suddenly on a railroad right in front of an oncoming high-speed train?

Don't refineries rely on the rail network to function?

Is POTUS covering up a new wave of Terrorism in the US during the last critical month prior to the election?

What 3rd train accident? I only see the two that happened one after another: http://www.sandiegopersonalinjury-law.c ... rnia.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Both were passenger trains not freight. Tracks were cleared in a day.

Nobody died apparently. Where is the Obama terrorism coverup here? I'm no fan of the Omabanator but lets not all don the tin foil hats quite yet.

No tin foil hat.

I despise the infected pustule that is inhabiting the white house.

Absolutely nothing this vermin could do would surprise me.

Some of you may recall that there was a giant fire at a refinery in the Bay area a few months ago which took that refinery offline for an extended period. That, a power outage at a southern California refinery which set back that region's production significantly, AND the fact that the state was about to go off of its summer formulation to its winter formulation are key to the shortage.

Normally, refineries in CA would be scaling up their production of the winter formula in preparation for the state-mandated conversion each year. Normally, this would be a non issue from a production/supply/delivery perspective, and normally California is a net exporter of Gasoline. However, because of the above mentioned production setbacks, and the continued export of supplies, summer formula inventory is lower than normal, and winter formula inventory hasn't been able to gear up yet.

Also, California law mandates no out-of-state imports of gasoline, so even if oil were imported from out of state the reduced refinery capacity combined with the current production backlog would mean that no oil imports would have an immediate impact on the availability of gasoline at the retail level.

One more wrench in the works...... Gov. Moonbeam has issued an Executive Order (democrats love those things so much, it must be Freudian compensation for lack in some other area....): he has temporarily put California back on the summer formulation to try and ease the lack of inventory at the pump, but it is a futile gesture because, as mentioned above, there simply isn't much summer formula inventory available..........and California politics is in thrall to radical environmentalists who severely need to be tarred and feathered and ridden out of town on a rail, so they haven't built any new refineries in decades.

I'm a believer in the principles of Occam's Razor, and the above explanation more simply and easily explains the situation than any obscure terrorist plot......against California alone and not the rest of the U.S.....which would be hard to explain.

There is one very beautimous thing to come out of this: Californians are now living with the realities of having been feckless voters, and bad citizens with a poor understanding of how the real world works. The more they suffer, and the longer they suffer, the more likely they are to strip their state government from the top down and start over; throw all those commie idiots out of office and elect some conservatives who have a grasp of how economies really work, a respect for the Constitution which their current crop utterly lacks, and a newfound love of capitalism as the greatest engine for human freedom ever devised by man.

My little brother called me this weekend to wish me a happy birthday, and right away he started griping about gas prices and asked if we were experiencing the same thing here. I told him "yeah, it's twice what I paid for it before Obama got elected, but I filled up my tank three days ago for $3.35/gallon at a local station.....compared to the $4.65 he just paid for regular. I told him it's a direct consequence of how Californians vote, and it has come home to roost.

Indeed, I agree and have no sympathy for California. The only problem is, California will want to play the same "too big to fail" card that GM and the UAW did, and try to force the rest of us to bail them out too. Followed shortly by Michigan (Detroit), Illinois (Chicago)... etc. And if Obama and his advisors and czars are still in office, he will do do it, congress or not. There would have to be an impeachment and not sure that would stop the train at that point.

No I don't think the particular incidents cited were intentional events, but it does show how environmental and other regulations have so hamstrung the energy (and other) market(s) in California that there is no room for either perturbations nor possibility for independent action to mitigate them (and I think that IS intentional). It also shows how an actual terrorist attack(s) could screw things up in a hurry.

As far as tinfoiling goes.... when Hasan's (Spit spit feces be upon him) rampage at Ft Hood is classed as "work place violence," and a long list of small scale attacks on military recruiting offices, airports, and the like over the past decade are immediately reported as not "terrorisma-related," it is hard to not to be a bit skeptical of event reporting in general...

When California crashes, here's how I would like to see President Romney and a Republican-(and hopefully Tea Party) dominated Congress handle it:

Call it "Reconstruction II"

1. Make a 49 star flag and remove California's status as a State. Back to "Territory" status for them.
2. Sack the governor, the legislature, and pretty much every other State-level elected official. No pay, no pension, get out of the way.
3. Appoint a Territorial Governor. It would be worth just for the exploding heads to appoint Palin, but maybe Scott Walker has had enough fun in Wisconsin, or Mitch Daniels, someone like that. I might put Palin in charge of the energy stuff, she actually has more experience than a lot of folks in that.
4. Void all public pension plans, outlaw public sector unions.
5. Cancel boondoggle "mass transit" fantasies like that one Moonbeam just signed them up for.
6. Definitely cancel all the Hollywood tax breaks. (Yes, California voted to extend tax breaks for moviemakers, but borrow money for "mass transit.")
7. Before allowing them readmittance as a State:
a. Require a state convention to write a new Constitution.
b. Require the state constitution to have clauses requiring a balanced budget every year, recognizing an ironclad right to self-defense and the keeping and bearing of arms, and restricting public expenditures to public safety, infrastructure, and a couple of other things, and limited to some % of GDP. State referendum required to change the %.
c. Pay of elected officials would vary according to the State GDP or similar measure.
d. State and local income taxes would be due the month before elections for the jurisdiction in which the tax is due. E.g. School taxes due just before school board elections, state taxes due just before state elections, etc. What about non-election years? Let the convention figure that out.
e. ...that's good for starters. The other blue states should find this very motivating...
