I would like to preface this by saying I have not yet looked at the laws. Can a resident alien get a CHL. A friend (a US citizen) is married to an Australian. He has lived in the US for 15 yrs, has a green card and listed as a resident alien. He buys guns all the time. Can he get his CHL? Headed to go read laws now.

If he has a green card, he follows the same process as a US citizen born outside the US, except he has to provide a copy of his green card (I-551) instead of proof of US citizenship.
