AR lower

Post by 77346 »

I guess the panic has started... or it started a few months ago and I was simply looking the other way... :roll:

After looking at the number of people at the firearms counter at Academy today, I stopped by my LGS... AR's are flying out the window. Browsed the 'net for places to get a stripped lower and seems like a lot of the vendors don't have them in stock. So, found an ATI polymer from Palmetto and placed an order. It's not exactly what I had in mind, I would have preferred something made out of metal, but it's the only thing I could find so far.

I don't know much about build AR's, but I figure my next purchase is a few dozen of those evil :evil2: 30-round magazines before they disappear from the shelves too... then I'll look to complete the lower. This should be a fun project, except I'm jumping in at the wrong time.

With Christmas coming, I'm not looking to spend a ton of money on a fully assembled AR, but I want to have the option of having one at some point.

I made it a point to buy a lower each month this past year in case Obama was reelected, and I tried to pick one up yesterday and saw the same thing you did, and ordered the same thing you did! :lol: I figure for $39.99 each, they are worth the risk, so I got two. One will be a .22 build and the other will likely be .223. Anything higher than that would concern me...my concerns may be unfounded, but I can always buy another upper later on!

One of our forum members has lowers here:

http://oldcannon.com/2012/04/new-fronti ... -15-lower/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

These are high quality lowers, I got one a while back and it has functioned flawlessly.

Highly recommended FFL in Central Texas.

yeah, that's the one... $49.95 + $7 s&h + FFL transfer... looks like it was going for $39.95 before.

@pbwalker - yeah, I bet that's it... but I don't mind paying $10 extra at the moment... it's a small investment.

@eureka - thanks for the info... one blogger on youtube seems to believe the ATI Omin is actually made by New Frontier; both made out of polymer. Haven't found anything to confirm that.

They have the Magpul LPKs on sale now for $119, too bad I bought three last week when they were "one sale" for $139.

I've been looking around the web to look for AK gear. I came across this website http://www.surplusammo.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. They have SAA stripped lowers for $99.99 if anyone is interested.

Surplus Ammo and Arms always has great prices and fast delivery. Ordered from them many times and never had a hang up.

We have Seekins Precision and Stag on our site, but if you're local, we have the following:

Spike's (Spiders)
Ranier Arms
Mega Arms (Billett)
Black Rain Ordnance (Billett)

https://www.primaryarms.com/Lowers_s/3930.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I can't remember all the pricing off the top of my head, but call me and I'll be happy to pass that info along to you.

Thanks!
