Re: Illinois Gun Ban Measure Dies for Lack of Votes
I'm glad that the IL bill was abandoned but the article chaps my hide.
Is It the best that the author can do to talk about the NRA mentioning job losses? What about the vote defending the 2nd amendment? I know that the press isn't keen on mentioning the Constitution but this ban was clearly unconstitutional and that was worthy of at least a sentence in the article.
Nope. The Lib party line is about the NRA protecting the gun industry and, by golly, that is all we are going to talk about. What a crock!

Good point....perhaps die is too strong a word. The main thing that I took away from this though is the glimmer of sunshine in an otherwise very gloomy sky. It is a very small win, but it has the potential set the tone as to how the major battles will progress. Before this, antis were salivating over the possibilities of what could be banned while riding the wave of emotion throughout the country. What had them salivating is what had pro2As extremely worried. With this, my confidence is boosted, even if only to a small degree. I will take itanygunanywhere wrote:It did not die.
