He must be missing some brain cells to do a stunt like that. He is lucky there was nobody with a gun present or he may have found himself at the medical examiners office.

Stupid stunt, but it does prove the point.

Some people get it:
David Siano, a parent at the school, told NBCDFW.com that the incident shows that "we are not prepared."
"His intent was just simply to say, 'you've done nothing' and that's what it showed," Siano said. "So (if) that’s what it takes, it’s a shame."
And some people don't:
Another parent Misti Schramme told The Dallas Morning News she trusts security measures in Celina and thinks her child's school is safe: "You can’t live in fear all the time."
This guy just walked in and "killed" a couple of staffers which, had it been real, would have given him unfettered access to the rest of the school, and this "parent" says she trusts her school security????

School staffers knew Miller, who was a father of a student, and police were not called until he left the school,

He was arrested Wednesday evening
Good response time ...
David Siano, a parent at the school, told NBCDFW.com that the incident shows that "we are not prepared."

"His intent was just simply to say, 'you've done nothing' and that's what it showed," Siano said.

That was a pretty stupid act. Did he really think he would not get in trouble for that threat?

It would be good to see some districts stage this acts and see how the schools respond.. But that would just make the district look bad

And we all know that to most people, it's appearances that matter more than reality. :grumble

Anyone who thinks this was a good idea should go the the airport and tell the agent you have a bomb. Pure stupidity.

So, I'm a greater at my child's school, I have my a CHL, and have been given permission to carry inside the school. This guy comes in and says he has a gun and he's here to kill someone. What do I do and what am I legally able to do?

1. Call 911.
2. Try to physically restrain him.
3. Pull my gun, point it at him and order him to the ground.
4. Shoot him.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

If it were me, I would:

1) Pull my gun, point it at him and order him to the ground. (In the current climate, I am taking all such threats as serious statements until proven otherwise)
2) Shoot him (if he continued being a threat)
3) Call 911 as soon as I possibly could (assuming someone else wasn't calling while I was busy with #s 1 & 2)

Most opinions about this man seem based on him being stable and doing something stupid, maybe..., but I think the men in white suits may be called for more than scolding...
