I am in Houston. Where do I buy bullets? Seems everywhere i looked it costs about $.10/each. Is there any cheaper source?
I thought the total cost of reloading is 6-8 cents for 45 ACP. I was looking forward to doing some really saving. *faint

Stupid,
Your cheapest source will be via UPS. http://www.wideners.com has the best prices I've found. I do most of my business with them.
If you've simply gotta load some today, swallow your pride and lighten your wallet by going into Carters or Gander to get a hundred.

The last train out of any station will not be filled with nice people.

Stupid, The best you can expect for .45 is about .11 cents per round. Buying non-bulk components, the best you can expect is about .15 cents per round. All reloading components have gone up significantly in the past year. If you can find jacketed .45 bullets for less than $90 per thousand, you have found a pretty good deal. Precision bullets in the Dallas area sells a moly coated bullet that shoots pretty well.

From 5/05 thru 7/06, I made five purchases of 1000 Ranier 230gn RN copper plated bullets from Midway at prices from $59.39-$60.99/1000.
Current regular price is $82/1000, appearing every 2-3 months on their sale for about $75.
Shipping is a factor, but not unreasonable.

Plan ahead.
In one month Bay Area Practical Shooters will host the Space City Challenge at PSC Range.
We will have several vendors present. For a list:
http://www.texassouthsection.com/SCC_2007/ssc_2007.htm
If you want lead, contact Arti Mitchel at:
http://www.bulletworks.com/
If you want jacketed, Montana Gold will be there. Athena Lee is the local rep. and I think Tom D. from Action Shooting Supply http://www.actionshootingsupply.com/
Will bring in some as well.
With any of the vendors, contact them before the match and they will bring any reloading supplies you need. (Or have them delivered by freight to the match)
I tend to buy a year or two's supplies at a time. I think it makes shooting cheaper.

$173.99 shipped to your door. That's 2000 bullets.
That's about $.09 per bullet.

In the past, I've bought cast 230 grain cast round nose bullets at Austin, TX gun shows from "Houston Cartridge Company" though I haven't seen them for quite a while. Check your Houston phone book.
They were OK, used them with no problem in practice and in IDPA matches, though once I did find some 200 grain flat point bullets mixed in with the 230 round noses.
Nothing wrong with cast bullets in .45 ACP . . . if you don't have the time or the inclination to cast your own, most gun shows will have someone selling cast bullets.
