Of course! Everyone knows a controlled weapon is a BAD thing, and an out of control weapon is a GOOD thing! Just common sense.

I wonder why the AR is catching so much flak, and the AK not so much.

Just as a guess, I would say that more Americans own ARs than own AKs and thus it makes it a better firearm to concentrate on in the media. Plus, everyone already knows that the "AK-47" is a wonder death-ray machine... :roll:
