They never stop, inspite of the positive spin by the police chief and the reporter, the anchor uses the last 6 seconds of camera time to bash the gun.

The funny part about this story is that his AR wasn't loaded.

As the situation developed quickly, he didn't have time to load it, and hence he
was pointing an unloaded weapon at the bad guys! :-)
