Suggestions on selling firearm

Post by MolonLabe »

Never sold a gun before, have only purchased from retailers& shows. Was thinking about listing something here, was wondering if ya'll have any tips? I know legally what the expectations are, but how much info/paperwork etc is the norm? Was hoping to stick to face to face transaction, any advice? (safety etc.) PMs welcomed. Thanks

No paperwork w/CHL or LE creds.

I bring an armed friend almost always, whether its a gun or motorcycle deal.

Ive sold 3 or 4 guns off this forum, met the CHL holder, got the money, gave the gun
Some people want to have bill of sale signed, but I never had requested that.

The only thing I normally ask for are to sell to CHL Holders, that makes me feel better that I am (probably) not selling to a criminal.

I would say to include as many pictures of exactly what you are selling and be descriptive. Pictures always help to attract more eyeballs to what you are selling, whether it be a gun, a car, or whatever.

If I sell a gun, I ask for the buyer to be a chl holder. If they aren't, I would ask them to sign a bill of sale of some kind. Just for a little extra piece of mind.

Whatever you decide your requirements are, there should be no surprises when you meet.

Discuss up front what both of you need and then don't alter that.
