I keep seeing posts of notices people are getting back from DPS. I'm still in the initial waiting on materials stage, but I keep wondering what this "affidavits" item means and if it pertains to me. Do I need a stinking affidavit?

Only if you completed a paper application. Affidavits are not needed for online apps.
