Armed(?) Motorcade around Dallas this last saturday?

Post by knotquiteawake »

This has been bugging me for days and I can't find any info on it... I was on my way home from the store traveling on sh66 in Rowlett this last saturday when I saw up ahead in the oncoming traffic 2-3 motorcycles with flashing blue and white strobes and men in black "gear" (like cargo pants, padded jacket, full helmit, no face visible). They had no patches on them at all, it looked like they might have been armed. They were escorting a armored looking limo (it looked heavier/thicker than normal). And behind the limo another motorcycle as well. They had a siren going which sounded like a police siren but played backwards. Like I said, they had no patches or other identifying marks on any vehicle or clothing.
I asked a local LEO I know and he had no ideas.

Nobody seemed really know what to do with them... cars were only kind of getting out of their way because while they sort of looked like cops, they didn't have any markings to identify them as such.

You sure it wasn't some sort of funeral escort? Were the motorcycles "blocking" intersections etc ?

That's exactly how some of the funeral motorcades dress here. B&W bikes, and wear black padded clothes and drive like they are crazy!!! I darn near hit (really he almost hit me) one several years ago as he was running close to 60 trying to get up to an intersection. I was coming out of a store parking lot.

During the 2010 World Series we had an encounter with George W Bush's motorcade coming out of the Ballpark in Arlington. Arlington police motorcycles, Arlington Police patrol vehicles, Secret Service vehicles, and Bush Super Suburban. Only wish I could exit from the Ballpark as fast as they did!

I thought maybe funeral too but there was no hearse so I was still scratching my head.

My thought was it was a scientist being escorted to a secret lab where he is developing some kind of oil-free renewable energy source. Of course the Oil Cartels can't have this happening so they have put a price on his head and so he must have private security escort him (at least thats what my tinfoil hat whispered to me).

But really jmra, it felt more like MIB and looked more like MIB than anything else!

The bikes were all black, no white at all, one of the jackets they were wearing might have said police on the back but there were no patches to back that up.

We encountered such a procession one time when we were headed to Otto's Barbecue in Houston. Turned out to be George H.W. Bush not too long after he left office. We punted as the crowd was headed that way in the hopes of encountering him at lunch.
