New to waiting room. I have my PIN but thats all.

Hi everyone,

I took my class on March 3rd and sent my packet off on March 8th. I received my certified mail receipt yesterday and it was just signed but not dated. So I don't know what day they received it. I e-mailed for my PIN last night and received it today. When I check the status it says; No application or license/certificate active. So do I need to call them or just wait a while longer? I know its only been 15 days but if they sent the receipt back and gave me a PIN shouldn't it show someting else?

This is my second time to get a CHL. I had one in 98 and it expired in 2002. Due to the nature of my job I could never get free to recertify and lost it. First time it took about 60 days if I remember right.

Welcome to the forum, grandpatim!

Going over the comments from folks over the last few months, I've read it can take 30 days or so for your status to change to "Processing application". I wouldn't call yet.

My first CHL expired in 2000 and it took 80+ days to get my recent renewal. That was over the Christmas Holidays and the processing timeframe seems to have come down quite a bit since then.

Welcome Grandpatim!!

regarding: No application or license/certificate active - I think you may have checked under the Instructors' area. I've read about several occurrences where that is what happened.

Best wishes and try to be patient. :seeya:

Thanks for the welcome guys. I double checked and I was on the one for the license. I went ahead and did it on the instructors side just for grins and it came out the same. I'm just worried they may have lost it. Not much faith in our government sometimes. I can wait. I think.

I'm hoping to get it in time to be able to carry during the motorcycle rally in Ruidoso NM the middle of May.
