Ammo SHortage

Post by tommyg »

I might have to start reloading is there any place in or near Austin that teaches a reloading class
I've never done it and don't feel good about doing it without some schooling on the subject

My cabelas does, check there. Problem is, there is an ammo reload supply shortage as well. I thought of doing the same but after choosing a press I can't find the 9mm dies for it I want. Much less powder and primers.

You can find reloading supplies, but it will take some effort. I was able to get 9mm and 223 die sets from Cabelas.com (they should be here today), but I had to check the website a couple times a day to catch them in stock. Some of the die sets they will let you backorder, and those seem to be showing up on occasion. I also found powder and primers at Bass Pro and a local gun shop (Ray's Hardware), but you have to keep checking, and you may not be able to buy in bulk to help lower the price. Still haven't found any small rifle primers though. Those things and 22lr are like gold right now.

Edit: Just back from Ray's Hardware near downtown Dallas and they have a shelf full of small rifle primers, both CCI and Winchester. 2/19
