Policy & Professional Employment Organization

Post by RX8er »

All, I work for a company / POE. The particular POE is Administaff/Insperity and these companies provide my HR services to the small company that I work for. The POE has provided a general set of rules called the Guidelines for Appropriate Conduct. Now, I have not signed anything agreeing to this "conduct".

Now, one partner is a "gun guy" and the other is an Anti. the one partner knows about CHL but has never said that I can carry.

IMO, I think I am okay because the policy has "in violation of Company policy" and since the actual company, not the POE, does not have a policy, I am okay.

Your thoughts?
As a Company team member, employees are expected to accept certain responsibilities, follow acceptable business principles in matters of conduct, and exhibit a high degree of integrity at all times.

This not only involves sincere respect for the rights and feelings of others, but also demands that employees refrain from any behavior that might be harmful to themselves, co-workers, the Company, or that might be viewed unfavorably by current or potential customers or by the public at large. Employee conduct reflects on the Company. Employees are, consequently, encouraged to observe the highest standards of professionalism at all times.

Types of behavior and conduct that the Company considers inappropriate include, but are not limited to, the following:

Possessing firearms, weapons or explosives on Company property without authorization, in violation of Company policy or while on duty;

I agree 100% and lucky, I spend the vast majority of my time out of the office anyways. It's more about if I should plant a seed with the one partner. He owes me one anyways; I just sold him on of my AR15 at the cost I paid and not at gun broker rates. ;-)

That looks like an Administaff policy so don't carry on Administaff property. :mrgreen:

I know Administaff is technically your employer, and your DD & W2 come from them, because I have been in a similar situation. But let's talk realistically.

1. They didn't offer you the job. They don't direct your work. You (probably) don't report your hours directly to them. They have no actual contact with you in the workplace after the benefits orientation.

2. They didn't give you oral notice and that policy doesn't have 30.06 language, so you're not breaking the law by carrying.

3. Concealed is concealed.
