Cypress to confiscate part of all private bank accounts

In one of the stupidest financial moves of all times the Island of Cypress is planning to confiscate 6.75 to 9.9% of all private bank accounts in their country. This of course caused a run on the bank's ATMs on Sunday, followed today by the drop in the value of the Euro combined with a rise in the price of gold. All markets are down today worldwide.

Cypress faced default and to secure a loan from the EU, they either were forced to agree to this or came up with it on their own. Germany has denied they were responsible, but are being blamed.

Of course, the question being asked, is this just the first, or will it be now followed by other countries in trouble such as Greece, Spain or Italy. Once this genie is out of the bottle will it be used in the future by countries, not currently in trouble, but headed that way, who have leaders who believe in redistribution of wealth and are in the process of rounding up guns in their country.

Tin foil hat time folks.

This is far from tin foil hat material.

You do know there is proposed legislation for fed.gov to bring all 401(k)s and most other retirement investment vehicles under a new fed.gov agency so that they can take care of our future since we are too stupid to do so ourselves.

If you think that this is beyond what fed.gov will do you better think again.

Nothing this administration does surprises me.© Anygunanywhere 2013

Outright theft. I think it's time for the citizens of Cyprus to rise up and say "we've had enough". People in Spain and Italy should watch this closely as it could happen there next.

Out of Ideas, Governments Try a Bank Heist

From the article:
Do you really think Obama won’t consider it?

Why bank deposits?

Because the Democrats say we need more money.

And in the words of Depression-era bank robber Willie Sutton: “That’s where the money is.”

Cyprus' 2 main source of income are tourism and financial services. Now that up to 10% of bank
accounts' assets are set to be seized, I think that their money-laundering biz may dry up permanently.

The Russians park a large amount of money in Cyprus. Perhaps the powers-that-be in the EU (the Germans)
saw no reason to underwrite the loan to Cyprus, while the Russians have lots of cash stashed in Cyprus.

Perhaps now capital will flow to a more solvent country, Switzerland; or maybe someplace like the Cayman Islands.

3rd Saturdays: Golden Corral, 465 E. I-20, Collins St exit, Arlington.

Rumor has it that the Russians are not going to take to their money being confiscated in stride. Any repercussions could put a halt to this type of involuntary voluntary contribution scheme.

What is an effective way to combat terrorism? Follow the money trail, cut off funding. Trace assets using transaction records. Gather intel, formulate strategy then attack.

Since the government think we are all terrorists any way, I think a key strategy in our disarmorment/loss of freedom is for the goverment to use the financial system as both intel gathering and compliance mechanism. Use financial transactions to gather intel on whose buying what and then hold financial system hostage to get registration/voluntary gun turn in.

They don't have to go door to door. They will just send you a letter saying " our records indicate you have been purchasing a lot of stuff we don't want you to have, your financial assets have been frozen (what hasn't been already stolen to make you totally dependant on government) until you turn all that stuff in".

Then try to buy groceries and pay bills with no money.

Until you turn in all your stuff or at least enough to satisfy them that you turned in all your stuff, you will starve and lose your house cause you cant pay the bills.

This may be an over simplistic view, I believe that manufactured financial crisis will be essential to creating chaos, and the reason for confiscation of wealth, the chaos the reason for the goverment to implement total control (martial law), martial law will in turn prompt gun confiscation for food by financial asset freezing. We are then effectively disarmed and suckling on the government milk glands for survival.

Look for a banking holiday like in cypress to signal the start similiar financial woes here. I also think 401k's will be stolen via the forced investment into goverment dictated fund vehicles that will be designed for you to lose money to them. No money in the system is safe.

It's a theory!

I don't have it all figured out but somehow some way the financial system collapse will be the key to our demise.

Yeah yeah yeah, blah blah blah .........tinfoil comment .........blah blah blah, I already know what some will say.

This concludes my tinfoil moment . Back to your regular scheduled government programming.

I think the politicians clearly understood the consequences of voting the wrong way. The Euro thieves didn't pick such a great place to float their trial balloon. Still, I was kinda hoping they'd vote for it because I wanted to enjoy the ensuing Russian expression of dissatisfaction.
