Great site, been lurking for over a year.

Just finished my student chl class and shipped off the packet. Is it best to wait for the plastic before I submit instructors packet or can I do it now?

Yes, I have NRA instructor Cert. ;-)

You actually don't have to have a CHL to take the instructor class. The class will give you the CHL. However, going through the student class should well prepare you for the Instructor training.

Thanks Keith,

Maybe I was a bit vague...

What I meant was in terms of processing. Is it going to speed the process up or slow it down if I apply for instructor while waiting for my initial chl license.

Probably won't make any difference. You will more than likely have your CHL well before they will get you scheduled for a class.
