Thankfully some in Congress have some decency.

Why is the U.S. funding higher education for its "Benedict Arnold ally" Pakistan when the Pentagon is cutting tuition assistance for American troops?
That's the question Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, asked as he prepared to introduce a bill Tuesday to give Pakistan aid the "sequester" treatment -- halting the money until U.S. tuition assistance is restored.
Good to see that some Congressmen have some sort of decency in light of the federal sequester. I for one never used the TA that the Army provided while I was in. It's something I wish I had used but between training and deployments it was kinda hard to find the time to get into the classes.

Why does Barry continually do this kinda stuff? "Lets cut TA for American servicemembers and instead give it to Pakistan." Makes no sense whatsoever and further shows where his head really is....

They danced in the streets on 9/11
They hid Osama for years
We sent them Flood Aid while they didn't reciprocate when we had floods, and while Obama denied Disaster relief in the USA
They must need higher ed. to teach them things our Education System is promoting.
Instead of funding though, I know some similarly minded Deans/Presidents of Universities we could send.

It makes perfect sense. He wants the sequester cuts to be as painful as possible. That way the people will force the GOP to give in and give Barry his tax increase. :mad5

:iagree:

Between that and that he pretty much despises this nation as it has been, so any pain and suffering he can bring to those who are so pro-American as the military, then that is what he does. My disgust with that man continues...

No, Sorry. The debt problem will also require that we stop giving away money to people who reside in North America. Some of them are US citizens, some are not. It is not possible to promote food stamps in Mexico, for example, and solve the debt problem. With those food stamps come a host of other costs - education, medical care, etc.

If you has simply said "stop giving away money", we would completely agree. Because that would cover green energy as well as all of the other stuff.

I could see that being his plan if he simply cut the TA to service members, but to turn around and ship to an anti American country makes no logical sense. Now as it stands people won't force the GOP into giving him his tax increase for fear of where he will ship that new federal money because it sure as hell won't be kept in America.

I am for cutting off all foreign aid. As we are broke as a joke, let them go to China themselves and pander for a loan. Stop taking my $$ and sending it to people who want to kill my children. Now internally, unless we want riots, we had better find a way to wean the free loaders off the gov't teat. Do I know how to do that, not really. But if we don't find a way to do it gently it will happen the hard way.

That is definitely the trick, to wean them off of welfare, food stamps, free cell phones, etc. how to go about that I am not exactly sure. A good place to start would be placing more restrictions on the programs as they are far to lax right now. In my high school years working at a grocery store as a cashier I saw some extreme abuses of food stamps. Individuals would come in and buy bulk quantity of raw meats, ie t-bones, to feed their dogs because and I quote "food stamps won't cover bagged/canned dog food so I feed em dis." It was sickening that I as a high schooler at the time was paying taxes on my hard earned money to fund that type of abuse. I'm all for programs that help people in need and don't mind helping them survive if they really need the help. I know single working moms that hold 2 and 3 jobs and still can't make ends meet. WIC is there to help them in cases like that and I support their use of the program wholeheartedly. It's the mooches that I despise and sadly that's what a majority of the users seem to be these days, sadly. We could start the weaning process by making the programs less open ended.

What is funny is that Bill Clinton was doing exactly that back in his day...

Aside from his personal transgressions, Clinton wasn't all that bad at his job, or maybe he just looks like a saint compared to the current piece of work we got in there now. Then again he wasn't elected by a mass of people solely because of his stance on topic. Obama was.
