Early Indicator of Supplies Loosening Up

Post by mjoplin »

Was at the Cabelas in Gonzales, LA yesterday and spent some time speaking with one of the counter folks. He indicated they are starting to see full ammo shipments coming in daily (although hoarders are scarfing them off the shelves quickly). I picked up a new set of .380 dies, some powder, and other misc stuff and had recently picked up 3 bricks of SPPs. They are limiting .22 to two boxes of 50. Also had a rack full of black rifles at normal pricing. Maybe a leading indicator of the light at the end of the tunnel soon....

I hope this is a good sign. I was able to buy 100 rounds of .556 ammo last week so maybe the light at the end of the tunnel isn't a train!

Hmmm..hope your right.
I have an order at Midway for a RCBS bench primer tool that was in stock when I ordered it, but then later that day it was gone and had a backorder. I watched the date move out every few days. NOW, its at 7-04-13..!!!!!!!!!!

Thats a long time to wait..!!! :waiting:

My hands hurt from the hand primer tool, and don't like the press ones.

Gotta wait I guess???

well... I had to sit for 10 minutes to remember the names.

and, for what it's worth, even though I was watching Rocky and Bullwinkle in the early 60's it wasn't until 1994+/- when we got the "Cartoon Channel" that I actually understood Bullwinkles response to Rocky's statement "Look Bullwinkle, a message in a bottle". It took me nearly 30 years to realize Bullwinkle's response was "must be fan mail from some flounder".

I miss those type shows ... even Boris and Natasia would be a treat today (in 2d black and white)

That's VERY NICE of you to suggest me send you all my primers, but I'm going to have to just wait until my bench primer tool gets here.
I CAN still use the hand primer, just not too long.
One day you will be crying too...Maybe? :cryin

It's all a matter of time...I thought I was bullet proof when I was younger. Then I found out otherwise.

Still kick'N :thumbs2:

I bet I'm not too far behind you but I prime on my press so no pain there yet. However the pain of watching my primer inventory dwindle away isn't being relieved any time soon. :banghead:

I was just reading on a few other reloading forums tonight, and read that it seems that components are coming back to stores. Most posts were from the South???
Mostly mentioned were primers...

I actually have not looked for components since all the crazy stuff started.
I wish I could tell you, it's sure to show up soon..I hope.

I understand PowderValley was suppose to have most in stock from what I have read, but don't really know for sure.
