The article only touches on part what he went through. Think what you may, but please be kind. Ali was my beat partner for many years and it is a miracle he survived at all. I actually debated on posting this link, but it is Easter weekend and the story is inspiring.

Touching story. I'm glad he survived. Unfortunately, so did the suspect. Hopefully they will put him under the prison, rather than in it.

Agreed there. Unfortunately in CA he won't get the death sentence.

A very touching story. I guess the Good Lord wasn't ready for your old pal to go just yet. Glad he made it.

That is an inspiring story indeed. I have known others who have had similar experiences. I believe them all.

Compelling story and I'm glad your partner survived to tell his story. It is well known that folks in near death experiences are flushed with adrenaline and other chemicals generated by the human body. Most of these experiences happen to coincide the the particular persons belief system. Christians see Jesus, Muslims see Allah, etc. I've had one near death experience in my life and I saw something totally different. We see what we need to see to ease us into the next level, IMO. No matter what we believe, any story of human survival against the odds is inspiring and speaks to the power that each of us carry inside us. There is more power than many of us will ever realize.
