'CHL Requirements' in CHL-100

Post by The_Busy_Mom »

I downloaded the CHL-100 that Charles created and had approved by DPS. I understand the first four topics in the classroom training, and that I can change the time allocation according to what I want to teach. However, can some of you seasoned instructors tell me what you might include under the topic 'CHL Requirements'. I understand it isn't one of the 4 food groups, so I am thinking maybe 46.035, intoxication, 30.06 notice requirements, and a couple of other ideas. What else have you included in the topic 'CHL Requirements' in your classes?

I can think of two possibilities. The first is an explanation of the requirements to obtain a CHL. The second is splitting "the laws that relate to weapons and to the use of deadly force" into two or more blocks for reporting. I have not seen the particular template, however.

In one of the blank spots below the printed requirements I have "Legal Aspects" & there I go over 30-06, eligibility, weapons, suspension/revocation, LEO contact, employers, no carry zones

Carry 24-7 or guess right.
