RCBS 10-10 Mechanical Powder Scale

Do any of you own this scale? It has good reviews on Amazon, but it is a bit pricey. I've just ordered a Dillon 550 press and am ordering other items to round out my kit. My preference is a mechanical scale that can be used even when the power is down.

I have had the 10-10 scale for many years and it has always been very good.
It actually is the scale others compare to.
IMHO, it's the top of the line in consumer beam scales. OHAUS makes this scale for RCBS and other brands too.
You can't go wrong, and yes, it's more expensive than the others but worth it especially if you want to weigh heavier items like shot for shot shells etc.

Do a Google search on that scale and look for comments about it.
RCBS also makes a 505 scale if you do not weigh anything but pistol/rifle loads.

But if its in your price range you can't go wrong.
PLUS..It holds it's resale value if thats important to you.
Look on ebay to confirm.

Ps..The Dillon scale is suppose to be good also, but I have not used it.

I don't have anything that heavy that I need to weigh.

The RCBS 502, RCBS 505, or the Redding #2 all handle 500 grains. Of those three, I prefer the Redding #2 because the pointer settles against a scale that lets me immediately read the tenths of a grain over or under the indicated weight. Look at what the pointer points to for the Redding vs RCBS brands, you'll see what I mean.

With everything Don2 said. OHAUS has been THE scale maker for generations. I still have a very old OHAUS. Excellent scale still.

While reading this, I thought of an OLD beam scale I use to have that was branded by either Redding or Herters that did not have any beam dampening at all. The beam would never settle, you had to take the highest point of swing and the lowest and divide that to get the "correct" measurement Sorta-Kinda !!!
Never had a problem or any mishaps.

A few years ago, I also bought the RCBS Chargemaster 1500 Combo and really like it.
So far, it has worked flawlessly.

No PLASTIC base or anything else..it's solid and just works well...!!
