NRA convention and people pointing firearms at me
I never go to gun shows (since I am an FFL it is pointless to me) so perhaps it is the same way there. Today at the NRA convention I walked passed numerous people looking at firearms and pointing them at the crowd. One guy was checking out a scope on an AR and pointed it right at me as I walked by. Not sure how it would have gone if I would have told the guy to point it the best he can at something other than people. I realize that is hard to do with a crowd that big but at least attempt to try and not point at people. Even though there were people upstairs it would have been nice if he would have aimed at something on the ceiling or a wall, it would have made me feel better.

It would have been nice to have MFGers place targets up on the ceilings to prevent this very thing.mrvmax wrote:I never go to gun shows (since I am an FFL it is pointless to me) so perhaps it is the same way there. I noticed this too but mostly it wasn't point at any specific person but some of the booths and crowds I can see it might be unavoidable.

As I walked to the Barrett both, I realized I had a .50 pointed right at my face.

Get over it? That is not good firearms safety you practice and eventually it will end up biting you. Perhaps you should go over the rules of firearms safety again, let me assist you in refreshing your memory.Skiprr wrote:Get over it.mrvmax wrote:I never go to gun shows (since I am an FFL it is pointless to me) so perhaps it is the same way there. The last gun show I attended was the same way. I was muzzle swept many times with fingers on triggers. I think the problem is there are so many new people to firearms and have not been taught any safety rules.
I couldn't begin to list all the violations I saw. There were many.

on a good note the firing pins were removed (at least yesterday they were) and the folks who refused were sent home. (yeah folks who don't know where to point guns or are intentionally being water&vinagury suck =/ )mrvmax wrote:I never go to gun shows (since I am an FFL it is pointless to me) so perhaps it is the same way there. At least make sure those weapons are made safe in a visible manner and use common sense where you point the gun.
My issue is the people that pull out their loaded concealed guns to try something. That really irks my chap.

Those people need to be slapped down IMHO. Their "concealed" weapon is no longer concealed.texanjoker wrote:At least make sure those weapons are made safe in a visible manner and use common sense where you point the gun.

Re: NRA convention and people pointing firearms at me
I understand there were safety measures in place but things always go wrong and I am more concerned about the person doing it than the companies providing them.

@george
and those people are why the government keeps taking our toys away...Really, It would be nice if the dealers had better control over their products and would perhaps tell people to not point it at people.
