3 year old White/yellow Lab Sasha
My granddaughter, (11) has the most wonderful dog, she is just under 3 yrs old and is a true lap dog and lover of all who enter her domain.
She spends almost all of her time in the house with the family, she even talks on the phone if your talking to the grand child on the phone.
Unfortunately now my grand child has developed an allergy to the dog, in fact it gets so bad now she has to put Sasha in the other room if wants to spend time with the adults and watch tv or play games. It is weird because we have had dogs in her life since she was born, rotties, german shepards and one yorkie, plus a few mix breed rescue dogs. She is a true dog lover and they love her. I would take Sasha to my house, but my granddaughter spends a huge amount of time at my house as well, I am hoping she doesnt get sneezey at my pup, her other best friend
We have tried medicines and all kinds of tricks, but its getting to the point that we have to find Sasha a great home and family
anyway
we are looking for a great home that loves labs and all their energy and behaviors. Sasha is very smart, and loves the water.
anyone interested can pm me or email me direct and I can answer your questions
Sasha lives in Waco and it would be a simple transfer, no $$ just a promise to love and take care of her and make her part of a family.
she has all her AKC papers, and has not been fixed nor has she had any pups or any adventures with male dogs.
she is house trained to go to the door and let you know she needs to do business and sleeps in a crate or on the bed with my granddaughter or the adults depending on who needs the most attention
Its actually going to be one of the hardest things for us and our granddaughter to have to do. she is a real part of the family

What a beautiful animal. I'm sure you'll find the right home for her quickly. I've got a houseful now, or I'd
take her in a minute. Good Luck.

At one time we thought our grand daughter had become allergic to one of our dogs. However, before having to let her go, we tried a lot of different things with the dog (golden retriever). Come to find out, her hair actually collected pollen in large amounts. It was the pollen from only 1 plant that she was allergic to. We were able to control the outbreaks by simply bathing her more often.
The grand daughter eventually had to have a shot to free her from the allergy to this plant (sorry, dont remember what plant) as it got so bad she couldnt go outside during the allergy season.
Possibly your grand one could benifit from an injection for the allergies.

you know I have to ask number one son, about the pollen, it was pretty bad this year.
But Sasha is an inside dog.
I know he has been bathing her in oatmeal shampoo because it has no dyes or perfumes
It pretty much is breaking our hearts to have to do this. I would take her in a minute,

Power,
I'll put the word out to some of my agility friends...they are a great network of dog savvy people. I wouldn't hesitate to back any of them if they recommend someone.

Beautiful Lab. Getting up in age myself and my GSD is all I can care for now or I would take her.

All of ours are inside dogs and always have been. It doesnt take a very long time outdoors to gather pollen, esspecially as bad as it has been this year.

Sasha is a beauty! I wish I could take her but the back yard is full with a Great Pyrenees and ChildV's Belgian Shepard (Henley). Has your son tried using a carding comb to remove Sasha's undercoat? I got one over at TSC for about $20. I had some allergies to Henley when she first showed up but the carding has helped quite a lot. So much so that I constantly discover Henley snoring next to me during the night.
Pet Smart also has some special shampoos that can help shedding and might be able to assist in figuring out what can be done to reduce any allergens.
All that said, Waco is the allergy capital of the world.

Re: 3 year old White/yellow Lab Sasha
So sorry to hear that you have to find a new home. My youngest daughter is allergic to just about everything known to man, including dogs. It is a real bummer because we are a dog family (we have always had dogs), but now can't have one due to her allergies. She loves dogs herself and occasionally pets / plays with them, but if she is around them very long or gets licked much by one, she shows allergic reactions pretty quickly. We considered getting one known to cause fewer allergic reactions, but if it didn't work out we would be doing what you are having to do and it would break our hearts as well....I feel for you and your family. Hopefully you will be able to find her a great home. Good luck.
