A different kind of prayer request

Post by Medic624 »

My son Mike is US Army Infantryman assigned to 3rd I.D. We are all very proud of him and until recently he was assigned to the Arlington funeral team and other various details.

Mike was recently selected to start the training to be a Tomb Sentinel. He is immensely dedicated and very humbled by this opportunity but is also very nervous.

If you would please put him in your prayers that he successfully pass this training it would be very much appreciated.

What a tremendous honor, and good for him for accepting it with humility. Sounds like you raised him right.

Thank you... Normally I wouldnt ask but this is something that is very important to him and although I fully believe he will be tested he will do just fine... He simply needs some reassurance that as he puts it, can perform honorably in the position. As I said, he is very dedicated and is humbled by this opportunity.

Again, thanks.

Again, thanks.
If an objective is pursued with full devotion, it is never "dishonorable" to fail.
From your description, I hardly think honor is in question. Prayer sent for his success.
And thanks to him for his service. :patriot:

A different kind of prayer request UPDATE

Post by Medic624 »

Mike was in a news story done by CNN talking about the work it takes to be a Tomb Sentinel...

http://fox6now.com/2013/05/26/video-wha ... omb-guard/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

He is assisting in helping get the next Sentinel ready for his duty. He is visible from about 24-36 sec.

He says the work to get the badge is absolutely brutal and now understands why Army Astronaut Badge is the only badge more difficult to obtain.

He is actively guarding the Tomb but at night... ;-)

He said to say thank you for all the wonderful words of support.
