Emails from Gun Owners Legal Defense Network

Post by goheeled »

Has anybody else received multiple unsolicited emails from Bryan Sears of the Gun Owners Legal Defense Network? I've received no less than twenty emails in the last three days from him. Many of them start of as if it's follow up information from a previous discussion that's never happened. This gives Bryan and his organization a look of dishonesty. I've asked to be removed from the mailing list... but that was twelve emails ago.

Not me. I would delete them if I did. Can't stand that sort of thing.

Got three myself.
God and the soldier we adore,
In times of danger, not before.
The danger gone, the trouble righted,
God's forgotten, the soldier slighted.

The one that is driving me to drink (short drive) is Tim Schmidt ...Concealed Carry Magazine. I get at least 1 a day from them. Sometimes multiples. Sometimes multiples of the same email. I do not subscribe to his magazine. :banghead:

I believe he is emailing everyone on the CHL instructor list. I just blocked him too.

I actually enjoyed his magazine and his forums several years ago... but the marketing email deluge finally became too much to take. He lost a customer due to his overaggressive marketing.

But I didn't have any problem getting off the mailing list/s. I'm pretty sure that a single unsubscribe request did the trick. It's been years since any of his emails have landed in my inbox.

I get the CC magazine but do not have a membership. I sometimes get an email in which he is discussing his points of view on the push to curtail our gun rights. I have nothing against the guy, but his talent does not lie in inspiring communication. I have learned to simply delete them.
..Of course, I could say the same about my own lack of talent, for that matter :biggrinjester:

My name is Robert Surgenor, and I am the Vice President of the Gun Owners Legal Defense Network. The issue of gun instructors receiving multiple emails has been addressed and has ended. We now realize that the idea of sending emails to promote our company was objectionable to some instructors. And unfortunately, because some instructors were included on more than one instructor's list, some CHL instructors received more than one email. That problem was not realized until we started receiving complaints.

We are comprised of one of the best teams of law enforcement officers, gun experts, and well learned attorneys in the country. We have tried to provide the best legal coverage to gun owners at the most reasonable costs. Our team is loaded with enthusiastic representatives like Bryan Sears who try hard to spread the news about our non-profit organization.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to those instructors who received multiple emails from our representatives. As soon as we began receiving complaints, the practice was abandoned. We are sorry that some of you were offended.
