I was hearing about the fires out around Possum Kingdom, any members here in need of any help or know of any members who could use a helping hand?
Perhaps spread the word here as to what might be needed and/or what can be done?

Re: Possum kingdom fires
Last I heard, only about 44 acres burned (original estimate of 160), and no structures were damaged. About 30 homes were evacuated and I don't believe they have been allowed back in yet. The fire is 70% contained.
After all the fires in that area over the last five years or so, I have to hand it to the Texas Forrest Service and local VFDs (thirteen agencies in all responded), they caught this early and got it under control quickly. Good job!
I am 30 miles east of PK by road so I am not effected. The big one a couple years ago had ash raining down on my house, that was disturbing to say the least.
