This happened in San Antonio yesterday. Parents, we need to do better!
A local third grader won't be at his regular school tomorrow.

North East I.S.D. leaders say he was removed after a teacher found a loaded pistol in his desk today at East Terrell Hills Elementary.

Officials say the boy had been showing the gun off to classmates, when one of the students told a teacher.

The teacher removed the gun.

No one was injured.
Armed not dangerous but potentially lethal.

Just joking guys.
I told my son to not even talk about guns. Not kidding. NISD is crazy weird about stuff.

Both my sons are out of public school system these days... If not, they would have been home schooled...or we would have moved to a location that had a decent school.... I know, not an option for many...just saying..

Yes, this would appear to be a fail on a parent's part.. but,, thats under the assumption the parent allowed access to the gun.. facts not in evidence yet?

This kid's life will never be the same. It's going to follow him for the rest of his school life. Frankly, I blame the parents. Though it doesn't say the pistol belonged to his folks, if they had educated him regarding firearm safety, this would most likely never have happened.
