For a fatboy on a diet, is from the South and loves to eat southern food this book was something I was really interested in. Book goes to number one seller on Amazon presales (was due out in Oct.) and now publisher refuses to publish it. At least I still have my rap music. :mad5 :banghead:

Unfortunately Paula Deen is a victim of rampant PC and failure to be high enough on the celebrity list to survive the challenge. That and lawsuits by formaer employees over sexual harassment and alleged racist comments were her downfall.

She did make some delicious looking food but I could not stomach her giggle and overemphasis of the word "Ya'll".

A reply to your post, but not necessarily directed at you specifically, more of a general statement about the whole situation.....

:iagree: but....

Let Jay Z or other similar person or celeb utter the same words and it's ok. Until everyone is held accountable for certain comments then no one should be. Said something a long time ago? Look out! I don't think she is now who allegedly she may or may not have been then.

On a general note of the use of language, to me, words or just words, but it's the context in which they are used that give it meaning. So a lot depends on context. The same word could be used in different situations and mean different things, regardless of the race of who says it.

And if the offended party gets to decide what is offensive then some people better stop using the word "cracker" (not the Ritz variety) because I am offended by it. But PC says its not a racist term because only certain people are considered racist while others or not (Bulloney).

So either we are all (all races, not just certain ones) racist or none of us are. So some words are offensive or none of them are, you can either use them or not, period. Can't have a racism double standard.

Didn't know about the sexual harrasment part. I have never had a problem with being eye candy for the ladies ( "rlol" , OK, even I have to laugh about that one), even the older ones. When you got, you got it. Unfortunately, I don't have it anymore, but I digress. :cryin ....... "rlol"

I don't like the overuse of the word "Ya'll" either but as long as it isn't an ingredient in her recipes it's not that big of a deal for me.
