New .45acp mold

Nice looking mold.
Saeco molds are nice.

I was at a neighbors house today looking at the tractor he was working on.
I turned around and looked at the ground...There were 4 - 2"x4"x8' long bars of pure lead used for weight on back of tractor implements to make them press into the ground better.

I tried to buy them from him but he said he uses them still. BUT, said he may sell them later.
I'd have to buy a lot of tin and other stuff to add to it to make suitable bullet lead.
Heck, I have no idea how to cut them or even melt them at this point.
Ever try to cut a large chunk of pure lead...I have and it almost imposable with normal tools.
Ended up using a tree splitting wedge and a large sledge hammer..!
Can't use an oxyacetylene torch. the lead acts like a heat sink and will not melt easily.

I've heard a chainsaw works. Some guy bought a sailboat keel and chopped it up. The "sawdust" wound up weighing like 200 lbs or so.

I have a brand-spanking new 9mm LSWC mold from Accurate Molds that I got at the end of June. I literally haven't taken it out of the box yet, as I won't be casting until cool days come back in late Oct or Nov.

I have used a very course bimetal blade in a recip saw and water if you need to flush the kerf material--but found the cats meow tool is a hydraulic log splitter. Split some pieces that we had to use the backhoe to place on splitter. It goes through leaving only a small thin piece holding together unless you put a piece of lumber against the anvil where the wedge can cut all the way through. Think of all your friends and neighbors and maybe someone has one. You could come to the farm and I would do it, but we are in the NE Texas Tyler area.

Thank you Sir for the offer, but I have had several large expenditures which has left me kinda broke for a while. ( Vehicle problems )
I'm sure others have had that problem too.

I have never used Stereotype, Isn't it a little harder than Linotype?
IF I get interested, how much could you sell and for how much $ ?

Dunno.

Supposedly, the stuff is a tad harder than linotpe. Some of the strips have reverse impressioms of alpha/numeric characters. How hard it is and that hardness as measured compared to what, I flat [abbreviated profanity deleted] not know.

Unused MIHEC BB 68 SWC and Star lube sizer might as well go along with the ride. The kiddos don't seem to be much interested, so I might as well cut it all loose.

I want a special mold that make the type of bullets I see in the movies that make lead and copper bullets that "Spark" when they hit concrete or even steel..!!!

That would be the best.
