People wonder why I get paranoid at the range. Too many accidents of this time from the trained and untrained.

It hit a desk and ricocheted. Gun was unloaded.

So rule 1.

Did he pull the trigger on purpose as part of the instruction or did he accidentally pull the trigger.

Maybe rule 3.

It hit a desk and then went into the arm of a student.

Did he intend to destroy the desk? Probably not.

So also rule 2.

My anti gun Facebook friends are having another field day. I could only come back with this http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas ... 727408.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and ban bikes.

He was obviously not a good gun safety instructor. He couldn't even remember rule #1. And he's darn lucky he's not facing manslaughter charges right now.

I think he'll have the opportunity to obtain new business opportunities outside of firearms training, after the lawsuit of course.

1. He must've had his training from that DEA speaker who done shot off his pinky toe
2. I purposely keep my anti-gun far left lib acquaintances (ppl i knew while I lived in Western WA State mostly) on my FB just to have "SPIRITED" debates. :thumbs2: I love me a good argument from time to time that I can counter their screaming meme emotional rants with facts, stats and court rulings. :woohoo

The guy is in his seventies so there is that but according to the comments on one of the articles he's a long time instructor, taught firearms at the local police academy, was a good instructor who knew his stuff. How this happened I don't know, wasn't there, but I take this as a "you can't be too safe" type of thing. I'm sure that this instructor was more skilled and knowledgeable that I am and had good safety practices and procedures but he still messed up.

If he is in his seventies he may be having TIAs and not know it. This would explain "accidents" and lapses in judgement.
