Where can I buy a stainless steel slide for XDm and XDs?

Post by ATDM »

I have an all black version XDm and XDs. Purely for cosmetic reasons, I also want to have stainless steel slides for these two guns. Any ideas, where I could get brand name Springfield slides?

Thanks.

Springfield doesn't sell slides. Your only bet would be to find someone wanting to trade slides or that has a slide from a gun that is no longer working. Have you looked into getting your slide hard chromed?

That's a great idea. Haven't thought of it. How do I go about doing that and what's the ballpark price for that?

Thanks

Check out CCR Refinishing. I sent several slides to CCR for coating in the past. Brad & Mary are very nice folks and Brad did excellent jobs for my slides. You can call Mary for more info.

Looks like between $90 and $120 not including ancillary charges like shipping and small parts.

Thanks. I just sent them an email. My primary concern is whethere it will void the Springfield warranty, if I were to get my slides chromed. I will ask Springfield, too, but it takes forever for them to reply to an email, so I thought I'd ask these people first, in case they know the answer, so that I could make plans...

Might also check with Tripp Research here in Tx. They do great work. My son had his XD hard chromed by them and we both had our AR bolts hard chromed.

Sometimes you will need to send the email to them twice before they see your email Image . I sent the slide of the Taurus 24/7 stainless to them 2 weeks ago for Cera Hide coating and I just received it back this afternoon. Again, Brad did a fantastic job on this slide. I paid around $103 totally including return shipping and insurance cost.
