BREAKING so not many details. Payers for the officer and those searching for the suspect.

Emergency personnel are responding to the report of an officer shot in the 1600 block of North St. Mary's Street. The area of investigation is centered around a Super 8 motel.

Update on the Officer
According to SAPD, the officer, an 8-year veteran, was struck in the head after a suspect fired through a door.

San Antonio Police Officers Association President Mike Helle confirmed to KENS 5 the injured officer is Aaron Terrazas.

Police Chief William McManus said an off-duty officer transported the injured officer to San Antonio Military Medical Center.

McManus said the officer is in stable condition and expected to survive.
