And how are they going to comply with that?....national gun registration. This world does not have much time left, God is setting the stage. Keep things in perspective and don't get attached to any property...you may have to give it up soon (because you will be branded a criminal and will have to live like a fugitive). In addition, the treaty requires countries to take measures to prevent the diversion of conventional weapons to the illicit market.

The same way that they are doing everything else... by ignoring the rule of law and making up their own rules as they go along. They are enforcing the carbon tax and the immigration laws that didn't pass in the Congress. Why would this be any different? Everyone knows that Congress is too dysfunctional to work and the UN treaty is too important to wait.Superman wrote:http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/09 ... pposition/

Re: Kerry to sign UN arms treaty
It takes jack-booted thugs going door-to-door to EFFECTIVELY implement anything like what you are suggesting. They do NOT have the manpower at the Federal level to accomplish that. In some places, people will quite readily rat out their fellow citizens. In others, it just isn't going to happen to any significant degree. But, it WILL tick off a lot of folks if this administration does that, I guarantee it. Two legislators in Colorado just got recalled for messing with firearms rights, and for letting "outsiders" call the shots, and those areas in Colorado are a lot more "blue" than most of Texas. I have no doubt that this wretched excuse for an administration will try something...I just don't think the success they are looking for will materialize the way they want it to do.Superman wrote:http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/09 ... pposition/

Re: Kerry to sign UN arms treaty
Any treaty has to be ratified by the Democratic controlled Senate and signed by our Democratic President. So what are those odds? Would the treaty have to pass the Supremes, before a national gun database was set up or after?
Re: Kerry to sign UN arms treaty
Those are in the gun-control camp are really running out of options. Most criminals use handguns, but gun-control freaks targeted the semi-auto long modern rifles. When latest mass-shooting was done with simple pump shotgun, now what the is the new target, .17 Varmint 4-rds bolt rifle?!!philip964 wrote:Any treaty has to be ratified by the Democratic controlled Senate and signed by our Democratic President. To ratify a treaty they need 67 votes.Beiruty wrote:Those are in the gun-control camp are really running out of options. I was thinking that also. I doesn't matter one bit whether or not Kerry signs the dang thing.philip964 wrote:Any treaty has to be ratified by the Democratic controlled Senate and signed by our Democratic President. Re: Kerry to sign UN arms treaty
It does matter to me that Kerry signed the treaty. This is just another example of this administration doing exactly what they want, regardless of the true public opinion, and we are all expected to sit back and take it.
You must take a few steps before you can cover a mile, and this group continues taking steps toward their ultimate goal.
You might have thought that the Democratic Senators would have hit the airways and seperated themselves from this decision. After all are they not supposed to be fearing the upcoming mid terms. I am not seeing any fallout for Obama and Kerry, so I am beginning to believe there is not much fear of the Dem's really losing out in the midterms.
I fear, we are slowly losing this battle.

All treaties must be ratified by a 2/3 majority.philip964 wrote:Any treaty has to be ratified by the Democratic controlled Senate and signed by our Democratic President. So what are those odds? Would the treaty have to pass the Supremes, before a national gun database was set up or after?
Plus, a treaty has the same power as any other law passed by Congress. Laws, and treaties, cannot violate any provision of the Constitution.
Well, technically they can't. We all know how that actually works out.

Our forefathers are turning in their graves today..... This administration will not let up until they have our guns. They want the media controlled and everybody on their socialist health care. American is in trouble! As he signed the document, Kerry called the treaty a "significant step" in addressing illegal gun sales, while claiming it would also protect gun rights.

Has been for quite some time.....since before FDR. They've been piling it on steadily since then.texanjoker wrote:Our forefathers are turning in their graves today..... We should be worried. There is nothing that this administration needs to justify what they want to do, and they will do it. Couple this treaty with this kind of sentiment:
http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfre ... rol-porter
...and now foreign entities (and domestic) have the "legal justification" for doing exactly what that idiot is talking about. And don't underestimate the cooperativeness of our government in helping them out. They will have the excuses and shields they need for plausible deniability to calm down the low info voters...their goal is the same goal as the idiot in in the second article.

It is the right time to give your $26 to NRA political arm:
Link: https://donate.nrapvf.org/pvf-312/?source=prospect2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Barack Obama and Joe Biden say you want more regulations and restrictions on your gun rights.
They say that NRA doesn't speak for you. And the gun-hating media is backing them up, claiming that 74% of NRA members like you actually support Obama's gun control agenda!
You and I know these are lies, but that doesn't matter.
All that matters right now is what a majority of our U.S. senators believe...because they hold the fate of our Second Amendment freedoms firmly in their hands.
That's why I'm asking you to sign these emergency petitions to both of your U.S. senators today. Your senators need to see hard proof that gun owners in Virginia are opposed to Obama's gun control agenda.
We've got to keep our pro-freedom coalition in the Senate strong and intact. And your petition is the best counter offensive we have against the brutal arm-twisting and flat-out lies coming from the Obama-Biden-Bloomberg attack machine.
Your petitions demand that every one of our senators stand strong with you, me, and NRA-PVF by fighting publicly and forcefully to defend our gun rights all the way to the end of this year's congressional session.
So please, sign your petitions today. And after you do, I hope you'll also make the most generous contribution you can afford to make to NRA-PVF at this moment.
If you can give at least $26 right now, I would be very thankful.
If you can double or even triple your contribution to $52, $78, or more, I would be extremely grateful for your leadership. Your increased generosity right now could make all the difference in winning this fight.
Your contribution to NRA-PVF today will show every U.S. senator that your petition is much more than just words on paper...it's a money-backed guarantee that NRA-PVF will have the financial power to go into every state and district on the map and hold politicians accountable at election time.
There is simply no better way to win the votes we need right now from our Senators than to show them that you and I - as NRA-PVF supporters - hold their political future in our hands.
So please, sign your petitions today. And again, whatever amount you can afford to contribute, all I ask is that you please be as generous as you can right now, at a time when everything we've fought for is on the line.
Thank you.
