This is one tough gal.

Even though she was hit, the officer managed to chase after two suspects; the shooter is in custody

In my humble opinion, she has demonstrates of the primary tenets of being an effective LEO - tenacity in the face of adversity.

Good for you, officer Carrizales! I hope you recover soon, and get to take on more of the bad guys!
Your best option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.
When those fail, aim for center mass.

It's a shame her bullets did not find their mark and save the tax-payers a bunch of money. This makes me so angry when I hear about officers being shot in the line of duty for simple traffic offenses. 3:30AM they may have been drunk, on drugs, or both. A black, zippered, plastic bag would have been the best way to bring the shooter in.

Awesome LEO.

Too bad the cowardly thug didn't resist arrest when other officers arrived. He needs the fast lane through Death Row.

I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.
