Alaska boy, 6, fatally shoots girl with pellet gun

Post by gthaustex »

Proof that even pellet guns can be deadly, contrary to what some I have met think....

My prayers go out to the families involved.

Many toys can be lethal. Swimming and wading pools are the first things that come to my mind, sticks are the second thing that come to mind. It is terrible. The parents have my upmost condolences. We cannot bubble wrap this world. Sadly there are dangers beyond our control.

We had a terrible scare here a few months ago. My kids were playing in the small patch of woods next to my house. While they were playing a tree came down.....not on my property, but fell onto it. Praise God, none of my kids were standing in it's path. They happened to all be behind it.

Hug your kids. You never know how long you have with them. They could be pulled from your grasp in an instant.

I've got a pellet gun that shoots a .17 caliber pellet at the same velocity as a standard 22 LR round. Many people hunt small game with these rifles. I've no doubt it could kill someone if hit in a critical area.
