Missing documentation

Post by benyukhis »

Here is a question for y'all. I was not born in this country but because I immigrated when I was child and it has been so long ago that I did not provide vaild proof of citizenship even though indicated an out of country birth. It has been exactly 8 weeks since my first status update appeared on the DPS website and it read as follows:

Application : Received
Fingerprints : Complete
Affidavits : Received
DL or ID : Valid
Citizenship : No documentation received, notice sent to applicant
Passport photo holder : Under review
Photo : Received
Proof of Classroom training : Received
Proof of Proficiency training : Received
Fee : Received
Background Check : Under review
Concealed Handgun License : Print pending completion of application review

Note the "Citizenship" was in RED. I provided a copy of my US passport via the DPS website and a week later received an email confirmation that an uploaded proof of citizenship was received. Since that time more than two weeks passed and there has been no progress updates. Has anyone had anything similar and does anyone know how much longer the approval process might take beyond this point? Overall it has been 11 weeks since submitting original package.

Thank you,

Ed your application may have slipped some on the pile of work there, and these last two weeks probably are not the hardest-working of the year either.

So your record still shows "No documentation received.."? You probably have to be patient a while longer.

Oh, you're way too early to see an update yet. 4-5 weeks minimum before your status changes.

Thank you guys. Its just that it took them 8 weeks to acknowledge and start processing. I cant believe its going to take another 8 weeks to process the supplied proof of citizenship. Sigh.... :)

I'm getting ready to apply so thanks for the reminder to send all the required paperwork together. Good luck with your app.
