Wet ammo delivery from FedEx

Post by JDwtx »

First post and I will be using it to reap from your knowledge.
I got an ammo delivery from bass pro via FedEx today. It arrived wet and all of the boxes had fallen apart inside a larger box.
Most of the cartridges are now green and the primers also.
Is this ammo unusable?
I will be hearing back from Bass Pro sometime Sunday and I would like to know how to deal with the situation.
Any help?

Welcome to the forum.

If they have started corroding, then I would make sure Bass Pro files the claim with FedEx and sends you new ammo.

Any ideas about what to do with the bad ammo?

Wipe it to dry it off and try to clean any of the corrosion with a soft cloth.

After than I am not sure what to recommend.

I would think that it would be okay since the exposure to water was not over a long period of time.

I am anxious to hear what other forum members would recommend.

Thanks, me too. This has been a good place to get my questions answered without asking them. It's great!

I would do absolutely nothing with the bad ammo. I hope you took pictures as soon as you opened the box.

Make Bass Pro aware of the situation and let them know you expect them to replace and dispose of the bad ammo.

They can fight it out with the shipper.
God Bless America, and please hurry.

In your case green ammo is not good. File a claim with FedEx it's their responsibility to deliver your goods undamaged. BPS will most probably say "I'm sorry, contact FedEx." Was the shipment left on your doorstep or did you take the delivery yourself? This makes a difference. :tiphat:

Pictures were sent. Shipment was left on the porch. I have already wiped it all down. Some brass doesn't look too good, like the free bullets were riding against each other in transit. The primers have green gook around them. I told young lady #1 I didn't want to be responsible for shipping them back and she told me that they would not accept them back. She then sent me email address for another to take care of me, but she is out until Sunday. Was going to post a pic to let y'all see but that was over my head.

This is going to be a mess. Fed-Ex will refund the cost of the goods, but I can't see them accepting the responsibility of taking them back. Sorry, but I can't offer any solution.
