Waiting over 3 Years

Post by Zobach1 »

04/05/04 - Registered/Paid Online for CHL
04/14/04 - Received Packet
------------
05/06/07 - Took CHL Class & Qualification
05/09/07 - Mailed (certified mail) Packet

**UPDATE**
05/19/07 - Status online changed to: "Processing Application"

I received the packet over 3 years ago but never got around to taking the class and filling out the mountain of paper work until last weekend.

Status online says "Packet Mailed to Applicant" - hopefully my 3 years+ gap won't be a problem. All the paperwork was the same as everyone else in the class.

For my CCW, I bought a new Springfield XD40SC

Did you have to pay again?

Post by tfrazier »

I did the same thing, did the online app and paid over two years ago but got really tied up with work and family in the hospital, etc so I didn't get 'round to taking the course. Called them when I got the on line message and they reset it for me, but had to pay the fee again.

So now I have a total of 380 clams tied up in getting my CHL...

It would sure be nice if the state could just maintain a list of criminals who weren't allowed to carry and told everyone else "tote 'em if you got 'em". (Boy, I bet that statement gets a rise!)

Don't take me too seriously!

I actually kinda like that!

But, then... on second thought, that would seriously cut into my income. Never mind.

I like it too. Seemas to fit more with the second ammendment that the current process.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Seems to me that presently, in order to use our forefather given right, as good law abiding citizens, we have to go thru a bunch of hooey.

Seems the criminals simply go to a gun show, point to what they want(figure it out) and away they go with NO checks or balances.

And on top of that, I wonder what license gets suspended when one of our gun show point to what I want people because I don't(well, never mind) does something bad with it??? Oh yeah, they just get sent away for awhile.
