well I officially never want to be alone again.

Post by 1s1k52 »

first time in a very long time all my hair was up on my neck. I come in from the garage after working out. Only light that was on was the one in the kitchen. daughter was asleep in her bed and the TV was NOT on. I walk in the kitchen and start taking out things from the fridge to make a snack. The TV turns on. At first I thought Kinsley was up and playing around with me. So I walk into the living room, remote is on the table, TV on, daughter is in bed. I already checked to make sure nothing was squeezing a remote. I have searched for a logical reason this would happen because the MB light was on I checked the breakers and clocks. Nothing was tripped. What the heck is going on in this house.

There is no way to even explain the feeling I got that is gone now while looking at that TV. I am not one for all paranoia, aliens, ghost, etc but dear God was I freaking out.

To add to this. My wifes sister passed away suddenly about a month ago. Two days ago she was leaving for work and text me a screen shot of her phone. When she unlocked it the phone was on a text conversation from her sister from months and months back.

Even typing this out seems just completely insane. I am you tubing how to make holy water and carving crosses into my FMJs RIGHT NOW.

It's hard to say these days with TVs because unless they're unplugged, they're not really "off". So it could have a piece of equipment decided to send a signal to turn it on...or you had a visitor. Sleep well. :-)

One of my TVs uses bluetooth (instead of the normal infrared) for the remote. It's never happened to me, but it's possible some other bluetooth device could send a signal that the TV interprets as a "turn on" command.

At the risk of sounding crazy, I can tell you that I believe in paranormal activity 100%. I have had a great number of encounters, with many of them being at home. I can also tell you that it is not always a bad thing. In fact, all of my experiences have been with family members that have passed.

For whatever reason, I have a very strong connection with my husband's late grandmother. I was fortunate enough to have met her and spent time with her a couple of times prior to her passing. But my time with her was very limited. She has visited both of us on various occasions. There was a time when she 'told' me things that even my husband didn't know. We later confirmed the information with my mother-in-law. I think the most remarkable experience was at All Souls Day Mass one year. (For those who don't know, All Souls is a day to remember our deceased loved ones.) While we were singing a hymn, I felt a presence there with me. I felt a woman wrapping an afghan around my shoulders, and I could see a basket of yarn. My husband later told me that I described his grandma's yarn basket perfectly - she used to crochet. For some reason I kept sensing an unfamiliar presence - a man - and he seemed to say his name was Henry.

When I got home, I told hubs about it, and he had no recollection of a Henry. So we decided to call his mom. I thought she was going to fall out of her chair. She said that Henry was a neighbor and one of her mother's very best friends!! He used to dress up as Santa Clause for hubs' older cousin. But Henry had passed before hubs was born, so that's why he knew nothing of him. How's THAT for a 'ghost story'?

Anyway, I know it is a frightening thing at first, but it sounds to me like perhaps your wife's sister is trying to tell y'all something. If you can summon the courage, try and 'let her in'. You might be surprised at what you could learn. If anything, pray on it. :)

I hope this helps.

I'm pretty sure a silver jacket could get the job done.

Our homes are bombarded by so many radio frequencies it's almost impossible to determine what interfered with your tv. My in laws had a tv that would change channels when we would jangle our keys a few inches from the remote sensor. It was an older model, circa 1970-80's.

I had one remote that would do that when the batteries got low. Nothing like the stereo coming on at 4 AM and the last song you were playing was "Born to Raise H***" (Motörhead). It was especially bad since the wife isn't a fan and I had the volume cranked while she was gone. I should have tried a paranormal activity defense to the unkind words I was hearing since waking my wife at 4 AM is potentially fatal. Adding heavy metal just made it worse, oops......

Said stereo has been retired, I make sure that when the metal is done I leave the system to something quieter. But then there was the night I was stopped during the 3rd movement of Shostakovich Sym. 8..........

BTW, "Born to Raise Heck" isn't the title of the song.
